§ 80-1 License required.
No person shall own, keep or harbor any dog which has attained the age of seven months or which possesses a set of permanent teeth, in the City of Garfield, without first obtaining a license therefor, to be issued by the City Clerk of the City of Garfield upon application by the owner of said dog and payment of the license fees hereinafter set forth, and no person shall own, keep or harbor any dog of licensing age in the City of Garfield except in compliance with the provisions of this article.
§ 80-3 License fee; deadline for licensing; late fees.
A. The annual fee to be paid for a dog license is hereby fixed in the sum of $15 for any nonspayed or nonneutered dog, of which $1 shall be remitted to the state as the registration fee, $20 shall be remitted to the state for the Pilot Clinic Fund, and $3 shall be remitted to the state as the Animal Population Control Fund; provided, however, that the fee shall be $10 if the owner shall submit a certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian stating that the dog has been spayed or neutered, in which case $1 shall be remitted to the state as the registration fee and $20 shall be remitted to the state for the Pilot Clinic Fund.
§ 80-22 License and registration tag required.
Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a cat of licensing age shall annually apply for and procure from the Clerk of the City or other official designated by the governing body thereof to license cats in the City in which he/she resides a license and official registration tag with license number or a registration sleeve for each cat so owned, kept or harbored and shall place upon such cat a collar or other device with the license number securely fastened or displayed thereto. Acceptable methods of displaying the license number shall include but are not limited to breakaway or elastic collars. License tags or sleeves are not transferable.
§ 80-28 License fees; deadline for licensing; late fees.
A. A license shall be issued after payment of a fee of $15 for each nonneutered and nonspayed cat and $10 for each neutered and spayed cat.
