§ 123-11 License and registration tag required.

A. Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a dog of licensing age in the township shall, in the month of January of each year, apply for and procure from the Township Clerk a license and official metal registration tag for each such dog so owned, kept or harbored, and shall place upon each such dog a collar or harness with the registration tag securely fastened thereto.

§ 123-12 Fees; expiration date of licenses and registration tags.

A. A person applying for a dog license and registration tag shall pay a fee of $10.80 for each dog.

B. In addition to said fee, the State of New Jersey has imposed additional fees which shall be collected by the township, and these fees include a state registration fee of $1, which is to be assessed on all dogs licensed in this township; $0.20 for the state Pilot Clinic Fund, which is to be assessed on all dogs licensed in this township, and $3 for the Animal Population Control Fund, which shall be assessed against any dog of reproductive age which has not been permanently sterilized to prevent reproduction.

§ 123-20 Licensing requirements.

A. Cats must have license number displayed. Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a cat of licensing age shall annually apply for and produce from the Clerk of the municipality, or other official designated by the governing body thereof to license cats in the municipality in which he or she resides, a license and official registration tag with license number or a registration sleeve for each cat so owned, kept or harbored, and shall place upon such cat a collar or other device with the license number securely fastened or displayed thereto. Acceptable methods of displaying license number shall include but are not limited to breakaway or elastic collars. License tags or sleeves are not transferable.

G. License fee schedule. A license shall be issued after payment of a fee of $15 for each unneutered cat, and $12 for each neutered cat. Persons who fail to obtain a license as required within the time period specified in this section will be subject to a delinquent fee of $3 per month.
