Sec. 7-27. – Adoption.

(b) Provisions shall be made for the sterilization of all dogs and cats adopted from the animal control department that are adult animals. Sterilization will be performed by a state licensed veterinarian before relinquishing custody of the animal.

(c) The adopter of infant animals shall enter into a written agreement with the city animal control department guaranteeing that sterilization of the animal will be performed by a state licensed veterinarian in compliance with the adoption agreement. Such sterilization shall be performed 30 days after the adopted animal becomes six months of age.
