4-4-2: LICENSE REQUIRED; APPLICATION; EXCEPTION:

It shall be illegal for any owner or keeper of any dog within the city limits to keep said dog unless, within five (5) days after acquisition of such dog, he makes application for a license for such dog as hereinafter provided. Said license when issued will run from date of issuance to January 1 next. A new application shall be made and the license fee paid on or before the first day of each succeeding year.
