Sec. 8-165. – Registration of dogs and cats
(a) Every owner of a dog four months of age or more shall cause such animal to be registered and shall pay an annual registration fee for such animal. The registration fee shall be in the amount provided in the county fee schedule. Each registered animal will be issued a registration certificate supplied by the county. Registration fees for official police K-9 dogs are waived.
(b) Every owner of a cat that is a companion animal (four months of age or more) shall cause such animal to be registered and pay an annual registration fee for such animal. The registration fee shall be the amount provided in the county fee schedule. Each registered animal will be issued a registration certificate supplied by the county. Registration fees for feral cats shall be waived.
(c) Every owner of a cat or dog that is not spayed or neutered shall be charged a differential of $10.00 per year upon registration of the animal. This intact fee shall be deposited in the low cost spay and neuter fund.
