§ 5-34 Annual license.

(a) Required. No cat, dog, rabbit, or chicken shall be permitted within the City unless the owner thereof shall annually cause such animal to be licensed as provided in this section. For licenses issued for cats and dogs, such license shall be carried on the collar of such animal.

(b) Fee; term. Animal licenses shall be purchased from the City Clerk for a fee of $25. This fee shall include the implant of a microchip for identification purposes for canines (optional for felines). After the initial fee, subsequent year licenses will be $4 for a spayed female or neutered male and $8 for a non-spayed female or non-neutered male. Each license shall be valid for a period of one year starting on July 1 and ending June 30. The license shall be due and payable on July 1 and delinquent August 1.
