10-531: REDEMPTION OF IMPOUNDED DOGS AND CATS; ADOPTION:

C.   Dogs and cats may be adopted from the shelter once they have been resident at the shelter for the time period specified in this section. The shelter may charge an adoption fee and refundable deposit sufficient to cover the cost of vaccination and alteration. The new owner shall submit proof to the shelter within thirty (30) days or within thirty (30) days of the dog or cat becoming six (6) months of age, that a rabies vaccination has been obtained and the animal has been altered. Upon such proof the shelter will refund the deposit and give the owner a certificate of compliance.
