Published by Katherine Sullivan.

With an average Amazon.com rating of 4.9 out of five stars and a BookAuthority honor as one of the “best Animal Behavior books of all time,” Animalkind—the bestselling book by acclaimed author Gene Stone and PETA President Ingrid Newkirk—is clearly adored by readers. And we love that folks love it.

The positive reception shows that more and more people are understanding how vital it is that we treat all animals with kindness and respect. Among our favorite Amazon.com reviews is the following, from a review titled “Highly Recommended”:

Animalkind helps the reader better understand animals and why their lives matter (even the ones who seem weird to others like octopuses and dragonflies), and also inspires the reader to do more to help them.

This Animalkind reader “[c]an’t put it down!”

[T]he book also goes into detail on what we can do as part of our regular day to day life to make sure we aren’t exploiting animals. It’s a wonderful book that I can’t recommend enough!

This reader hadn’t even reached the end of Animalkind yet was already recommending it:

I am about halfway finished. I have learned so much! What an awesome book!

Amazon.com reviewers aren’t the only ones who love Animalkind—a number of notable names are singing the book’s praises, too.

Captain Paul Watson—the CEO and founder of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society—thought the book was “truly inspiring”:

Ingrid Newkirk and Gene Stone have done a wonderful service to us all with their stories of kindness and compassion.

Publishers Weekly also thinks Animalkind is worth a read:

[Animalkind] effectively nudges readers to think twice about their own use of products sourced, perhaps less than ethically, from the animal kingdom.

Joker star Joaquin Phoenix, vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli, actor Casey Affleck, and other celebrities agree: Animalkind is a hit for a reason.
