Billie Eilish, Millie Bobby Brown Win Top Honors From PETA
The 14th Annual Libby Awards Recognize Stars Who Push Animal Rights Ahead

For urging fans around the world to go vegan, shop cruelty-free, avoid circuses that use animals, and more, music sensation Billie Eilish, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, and Fuller House actor Juan Pablo Di Pace have all been named winners of PETA’s 14th annual Libby Awards (“Libby” is short for “liberation”—as in “animal liberation”), in which the group’s youth division recognizes the most powerful players on the animal rights scene.
Outspoken vegan Eilish won Best Voice for Animals for her online activism, sharing with her 40 million Instagram followers how minks suffer when they’re killed for fur slippers and mink eyelashes and how sheep are mutilated in the wool industry. Brown’s skin-care and makeup line, florence by mills—whose products contain no animal ingredients and are never tested on animals—earned her the award for Best Side Hustle for Animals. Di Pace was named Brightest On-Screen Star for Animals after he starred in a PETA campaign urging everyone never to buy a ticket to a circus that uses animals, who are beaten and whipped into performing, and recently attended a news conference in support of California’s Circus Cruelty Prevention Act, which was passed into law.
“Billie Eilish, Millie Bobby Brown, and Juan Pablo Di Pace are showing the world how easy it is to help animals by making kind choices in what we eat, what we wear, and how we entertain ourselves,” says PETA Senior Director of Youth Programs Marta Holmberg. “PETA is recognizing them for using their star power to make the world a better place for all species.”
Each of the winners will receive a framed certificate. Other 2019 nominees included vegan musicians A$AP Rocky and Chloe x Halle and actors Ruby Rose, Kat Graham, and Harley Quinn Smith.
