An uncovered well or drain—a common sight in India—can quickly become a death trap with a single misstep, as it nearly did for the two animals in Animal Rahat‘s new video above.

Trembling at the bottom of a 15-foot drainage well with no way out, the hapless dog and pig would have starved to death or drowned without the Animal Rahat rescue team. After an hour of careful maneuvering to capture and gently lift the terrified animals, both were pulled to safety. An examination yielded a miraculously clean bill of health for both, and the animals were returned back home, safe and sound.
