Forget everything you think you know about cows. These brave bovines do females proud.

When a young woman was being attacked by two knife-wielding men in a depraved “honor killing” on a street in India, help came in a form she probably hadn’t expected. A nearby cow heard the woman’s screams and charged the assailants, trampling one to the ground.

After a Texas cow was dehorned, she had had enough. She escaped from her transport trailer and led police on a chase that resulted in an unforgettable dash-cam video.

The cow’s “owners” asked the public for help in locating the animal, whom they had named “Bad Girl.” I’m sure she considers it a compliment.

Dairy farms typically keep cows pregnant so that their bodies keep producing milk and then take their babies away from them shortly after birth so that humans can drink the mother’s milk instead. Anyone who works around cows should know how fiercely these mothers fight to keep their babies, but when one rodeo clown (literal and figurative) messed with a protective mother, she showed him a new meaning of “go-round.”

Cows form strong friendships with one another. When a dairy farmer came to take her friend’s newborn, one cow proved just how strong those steel magnolias can be.
