NYX and Kristen Leanne Cruelty-Free Makeup Tutorial
When we heard the news that NYX would be coming out with a new range of cosmetics brushes, we contacted the company right away to let it know that animals bred, used, and killed for their fur and hair in the cosmetics industry suffer immensely. Our compassionate friends at NYX wanted no part of this cruelty, and they quickly agreed to use only high-quality cosmetics fibers free of animal hair. To showcase the new Artistry Brushes, we teamed up with popular YouTuber Kristen Leanne to give you the ultimate cruelty-free date-night tutorial.

These products do not contain beeswax (which bees work hard to make for themselves), carmine (which is made from the crushed bodies of female cochineal insects), hair torn from animals’ skin, or any other animal-derived materials or ingredients. With a quick check of the ingredients label, you can always find kind options at your local drugstore, Sephora, Ulta, Target, and elsewhere.
We’re glad that NYX knows that tests on animals have no place on your face—or anywhere else, for that matter. Unfortunately, some companies still haven’t gotten the cruelty-free message and support cruel, archaic, and unethical tests on animals when effective, cutting-edge, animal-free options exist. The EU as well as Australia, India, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and Turkey have already banned all tests on animals for cosmetics—so when will the U.S. follow suit?
Please help call for a full ban on all tests on animals for cosmetics and personal-care products, and always shop cruelty-free.
