PETA ‘Chicken’ Rolls Up to the White House for Easter Egg Roll

PETA’s spring “chicken” has a fresh idea for the White House: Switch to reusable plastic eggs for the annual Easter Egg Roll.

Our “chicken” rolled up to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. ahead of the White House’s annual Easter event to give people 1,600 reasons why recyclable eggs win over chickens’ eggs every time, including these ones:

• Plastic, wooden, papier-mâché, and ceramic eggs are reusable, making them more eco-friendly.
• Reusable eggs have zero cholesterol. (And we know that the First Lady wouldn’t want egg on her face for promoting a high-cholesterol food.)
• Recyclable egg producers don’t force chickens to spend their lives confined to tiny wire cages inside filthy sheds in which they’re unable to lift even a wing.
• Eggs made from plastic or other materials can be filled with a variety of fun whatnots and goodies.

And to get things rolling, our “hen” passed out plastic eggs, each filled with a tiny toy chick and a cute sticker reading, “I Am Not a Nugget.”

So Let’s Move … away from chickens’ eggs.
