Companies Cutting Ties with HKTV

The following companies have issued public statements ending their relationship with HKTVmall, one of Hong Kong’s most popular online shopping platforms, owned by Hong Kong Technology Venture Company Limited (HKTV), in light of HKTV’s gruesome decapitation and dismemberment experiments on pigs and sheep. PETA and PETA Asia are urging HKTV to ban these cruel, Frankenstein-like experiments on animals.

Effective 3 April, we have closed our shop on HKTVmall (a subsidiary of Hong Kong Technology Venture Company Limited) to ensure our presence aligns strictly with our core value of Fighting Animal Testing. …. Recently, we became aware of news concerning animal testing disclosed by “Hong Kong Technology Venture.” As a pet health company that has always regarded “life” and “companionship” as our core values, we feel shocked, saddened, and deeply uneasy. We firmly believe that the boundaries of scientific exploration should always be guided by reverence for life, and that the original purpose of technological development should include the most basic compassion for all living beings.
