Sec. 84-3. – License and vaccination requirements.

A. License required.

(1) The owner or keeper of any dog or cat within the corporate limits of the village shall secure a license for the dog or cat from the clerk on or before March 1 of each year or within 30 days after the dog or cat reaches the age of three months.

(2) Dogs or cats purchased or otherwise acquired subsequent to March 1 in a year shall be licensed within 30 days after the acquisition.

(3) New residents of the village shall have 30 days from their entry into the village to secure any license required under this article.

Sec. 84-4. – License fees; exceptions.

A. Annual fees imposed. The annual licensing fees for dogs and cats shall be as follows:

Cats (spayed females or neutered males)$5
Cats (unspayed female or unneutered male)$15
Dogs (spayed females or neutered males)$5
Dogs (unspayed female or unneutered male)$15
Animals belonging to senior citizens:
Cats (spayed females or neutered males)$3
Cats (unspayed female or unneutered male)$13
Dogs (spayed females or neutered males)$3
Dogs (unspayed female or unneutered male)$13

Sec. 84-7. – Impoundment and release procedures; fees.

E. Deposit to ensure neutering or spaying. In the event that an unneutered or unspayed impounded dog or cat is claimed by the owner, the owner shall pay a deposit of $20.00 to ensure that such animal will be neutered or spayed. Such deposit will be refunded upon presentation, within 180 days, of proof that the animal has been spayed or neutered. Said deposit will be remitted to the village clerk.
