§ 99-1 Definitions. 

Terms used in this article which are defined in N.J.S.A. 4:19-15.1 shall have the same meanings as set forth in said statute. The following words contained in this article shall have the following meanings:

KENNEL

Any establishment wherein or whereon the business of boarding dogs for sale is carried on, except a pet shop.

§ 99-2 License required. 

No person shall keep or harbor any dog within the Borough of Westwood, in the County of Bergen, without first obtaining a license therefor, as herein provided, to be issued by the Clerk of the Borough, or his duly authorized representative, upon application by the owner and payment of the prescribed fee, and no person shall keep or harbor any dog in said Borough, except in compliance with the provisions of this article and N.J.S.A. 4:19-15.1 et seq.

§ 99-3 Fees.

A. License fees.

(1) The fees for a one-year license shall be $8.80, plus $1 for the registration tag and the additional fee for the pilot clinic as set forth in Subsection B below.

(2) There shall be an additional fee of $5 for any dog or cat of reproductive age which has not been spayed or neutered.

§ 99-4. Pet shops, kennels and shelters.

B. No kennel or shelter shall be established, operated or maintained within the Borough of Westwood.

§ 99-30 Display of license number; license and registration tag.

Cats must have license number displayed. Any person who shall own, keep, or harbor a cat of licensing age shall annually apply for and procure from the Borough Clerk, or other official designated by the Governing Body thereof to license cats in the municipality in which he/she resides, a license and official registration tag with license number, or a registration sleeve for each cat so owned, kept, or harbored, and shall place upon such cat a collar or other device with the license number securely fastened.

§ 99-31 License fees. 

A. The fees for a one-year license and registration tag shall be $10, respectively.

B. There shall be an additional fee of $5 for any cat of reproductive age which has not been spayed or neutered.
