§ 120-2 Definitions.

Unless the context specifically indicates otherwise, the meanings of the terms used in these regulations shall be as follows:

KENNEL

Any establishment or premises where the business of boarding or selling dogs or breeding dogs for sale is carried on, except a pet shop.

§ 120-3 License requirements.

A. License. Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a dog of licensing age shall apply for and procure from the City Clerk a license and official metal registration tag for each dog and shall place upon each dog a collar or harness with the registration tag securely fastened thereto.

G. License for kennel, pet shop, shelter and pound. Any person who operates or proposes to establish a kennel, pet shop, shelter, or pound shall apply to the City Clerk for a license to operate such an establishment. Said applicant shall comply with N.J.S.A. 4:19-15.8 and the applicable development regulations of the City set forth in Chapter 114 of the Somers Point Municipal Code and shall be further subject to review and approval by the Somers Point Code Enforcement Officer.

§ 120-5 License fees.

A. Imposition of fees.

(1) The sum payable for a dog license and each renewal thereof shall be as follows:

(a) For any dog declared vicious or potentially dangerous by the Municipal Court, $700 pursuant to N.J.S.A. 4:19-31.

(b) For any guard dog or attack dog: $300.

(c) For any spayed or neutered dog not within category in Subsection A(1)(a) or (b): $10.

(d) For any other dog: $16.

§ 120-32 Licensing requirements.

A. Cats must have license number displayed. Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a cat of licensing age shall annually apply for and procure from the Clerk of the municipality, or other official designated by the governing body thereof to license cats in the municipality in which he/she resides, a license and official registration tag with license number or a registration sleeve for each cat so owned, kept or harbored and shall place upon such cat a collar or other device with license number securely fastened or displayed thereto. Acceptable methods of displaying the license number shall include, but are not limited to, breakaway or elastic collars. License tags or sleeves are not transferable.

(1) License fees.

(a) The sum payable for a cat license and each renewal thereof shall be as follows:
