Ahead of Super Bowl LX, PETA has drafted its picks for the game day hotspots serving up the nation’s best vegan wings—and Nashville’s own Radical Rabbit is a winner. The vegan soul food spot’s Carolina Gold Fried Jackfruit is crispy, tasty, and slathered with sweet and tangy mustard BBQ sauce.

“Radical Rabbit is dishing up soulful gameday nosh with its delicious Carolina Gold Fried Jackfruit wings, which are as finger-licking good as they are kind to chickens,” says PETA President Tracy Reiman. “Every winner on PETA’s list shows that doing right by animals and your arteries ain’t no thing but a vegan wing.”

Chickens form complex social structures, dream when they sleep, and worry about the future, just as humans do. Yet every year, hundreds of millions of chickens are killed for Super Bowl Sunday alone. At slaughterhouses, mechanized blades slit their throats—often while they’re still conscious—and many are scalded to death in de-feathering tanks. PETA’s free vegan starter kit—and guide to the best heat-and-eat vegan wings available at grocery stores—can help anyone thinking of making the switch.

Radical Rabbit will receive a framed award certificate from PETA, along with bragging rights. Other winners on PETA’s list include Strong Hearts in Syracuse, NY; Triangle Tavern in Philadelphia; Fifth House in Omaha; Watercourse Foods in Denver; Karelyn’s Vegan in Orlando; Detroit Street Filling Station in Ann Arbor, MI; Piper Down Pub in Salt Lake City; Life on Mars in Seattle, and Korny Vibes in Houston.

Radical Rabbit is a pop-up eatery available at farmers’ markets and other events throughout Nashville, including at Richland Park Farmer’s Market. Delivery orders can be placed online through Market Wagon.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on XFacebook, or Instagram.
