Sec. 10-5. – Restrictions on keeping dogs, cats, kennels and apiaries.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or maintain or to suffer or permit to be kept or maintained, upon any premises owned or controlled by him, any dog, or cat, male or female, kept mainly for breeding purposes, within 100 feet of any place of business and dwelling house other than that of the owner or person in control of such dog or cat. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or maintain or suffer or permit to be kept or maintained, upon premises owned or controlled by him, in the city, more than two dogs over the age of eight months and two cats over the age of four months. For the purposes of this section, keeping or maintaining an animal shall mean harboring or having it in one’s care or permitting it to remain in or about one’s premises for a period of five or more days.
