Sec. 4-23. – Licensing of dogs and cats.

Any person who becomes the owner or keeper of a dog six months or older, shall cause the dog to be licensed within 30 days. The license period shall be for one year from the day of issue. Any license renewed after 30 days from its expiration date will be subject to a late fee. Sec. 4-24. – Licensing fees.

The following is a list of licensing fees for dogs to be licensed in the city:

Male dog …..$30.00

Female dog …..$30.00

Spayed female dog …..$15.00

Neutered male dog …..$15.00

Exceptions. If the owner or keeper of any dog has a written statement from a veterinarian indicating that because of age, infirmity or other physical condition spaying or neutering is deemed inadvisable and presents said written statement to the city clerk, the licensing fee shall be $15.00.
