§ 95-6 Sterilization of dogs required for release from animal shelter.
No dog which is owned by or which has become the property of the Humane Society or animal shelter shall be released for adoption without being sterilized or without a written agreement from the person adopting guaranteeing that such animal will be sterilized. A deposit in an amount set by the Fiscal Court shall be made to the County Humane Society the time of adoption and shall be refunded upon receipt of proof of sterilization signed by the veterinarian performing same.
§ 95-14 Breeding permit required.
No person, partnership or corporation shall breed dogs or obtain dogs for sale or transfer without first obtaining a County permit therefor.
§ 95-15 Registration and issuance of permit.
County breeding permits shall be issued and sold by the County Humane Society upon agreement by the applicant to comply with the terms of this chapter and the payment to the Humane Society of the applicable permit fee.
§ 95-16 Term of permit.
The animal breeding permit shall expire on June 30 of each year.
§ 95-17 Permit fees; exception.
Animal breeding permit fees shall be set by the Fiscal Court. Veterinary hospitals not breeding dogs and public dog shelters will be exempt from the requirements of this Part 1.
§ 95-18 License and permit revocation.
A. The District Court shall revoke the permit or license of any person, firm or corporation who or which shall be convicted of dog abuse as provided in § 95-7 herein or who shall be found to have submitted a false application.
B. Any person whose permit or license is revoked shall, within 10 days thereafter, humanely dispose of all dogs owned, kept or harbored and no part of the permit or license fee shall be refunded.
C. No person who has been convicted of cruelty to animals shall be issued a permit to operate a breeding or commercial dog establishment.
