Sec. 610-14. – Licensing.
(a) License Required; Application. No person shall own or keep a dog or cat of age four (4) months or older within the Village without first having obtained a license for such dog or cat. A grace period of thirty (30) days shall be granted to owners or keepers of dogs or cats newly brought into the Village. Application for such license shall be made to the duly authorized Village official, stating the owner’s name, address and telephone number, and stating the animal’s breed, sex, color and name, together with a veterinarian’s certificate that the dog or cat has been vaccinated against rabies within the preceding twelve-month period.
(b) Fees. The fee for a dog license shall be twenty dollars ($20.00), and the fee for a cat license shall be fifteen dollars ($15.00) to be paid to such official prior to issuance of a license, except that if the owner furnishes a veterinarian’s certificate that the dog or cat has been spayed or neutered, such fees shall be reduced to twelve dollars ($12.00) and nine dollars ($9.00) respectively. No license shall be issued for a sum less than the full annual fee, regardless of the date of application. A late fee equivalent to one (1) times the applicable license fee shall be due in addition to the applicable fee for all license fees paid after their respective due dates.
