§ 90.010 ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE.
(E) Upon the second violation of this section, the animal running at large must be microchipped and altered within 30 days of the case adjudication. If the owner of the animal fails to comply, the animal will be subject to impoundment; the animal shall be held for up to seven days, during which the owner must have it altered and microchipped. The animal shall be considered surrendered if the owner does not have it altered and microchipped prior to the end of the seven-day period.
§ 90.076 IMPOUNDMENT FEES.
Any owner or other person reclaiming an impounded dog, cat or other animal shall pay a fee of $10 if the animal is neutered or spayed (herein altered) or $40 if the animal is unaltered, plus $20 for each and every day, or portion thereof, the animal has been impounded (excluding the initial day of impoundment), which fee shall be payable to the city. The owner of an unaltered animal shall be entitled to a refund of $30 if, within 60 days of the impoundment, the animal is altered and proof of alteration provided to the Animal Control Officer. Any spay/neuter deposit refunds not claimed by the owner within 60 days of impoundment shall be turned over to the city to be placed in the General Fund. In the event the owner or person reclaiming the animal has been noted for violating § 90.010 and the notice is dismissed or the owner is found not guilty, any impoundment shall be returned to the persons. Any owner or other person reclaiming a dog or cat impounded for violation of § 90.010 for a second time in any 12-month period shall pay an impoundment fee of $40. The impoundment fees stated above shall be increased by twice the amount of the impound fee last assessed for each instance in any 12-month period that the same animal is impounded for a violation of § 90.010.
