Sec 9-7 Raising, Boarding, Selling Of Animals
- No person shall raise animals for commercial profit within the city, nor keep for profit any kennel for the boarding of animals except where expressly authorized by the Zoning Ordinance.
- The director or his/her designee may impound any animal found to be in violation of this section. The owner is responsible for all fees relating to the impoundment of an animal.

Additionally, any animal for which there are three (3) documented cases of the animal running at large shall be spayed or neutered prior to its release to its owners after payment of the fee is made. After payment of the veterinarian fee for spay or neuter, as well as completion of all necessary documentation and paperwork required by the city, the animal shall be transported by an animal control officer to the veterinarian of the owner’s choice within the city or a veterinarian approved by the director for immediate spay or neuter. If the animal cannot be spayed or neutered, as determined by a veterinarian, in writing, due to age or a medical condition, the animal shall be spayed or neutered upon the removal of the veterinarian’s restriction or the achievement of a designated date.
