4-4-13: ADOPTION OF ANIMALS FROM THE SHELTER:

Dogs may be adopted from the shelter once they have been resident at the shelter for the time periods specified in section 4-4-12 of this chapter. The shelter may charge an adoption fee and refundable deposit sufficient to cover the cost of vaccination and alteration. The new owner shall submit proof to the shelter within thirty (30) days or within thirty (30) days of the animal becoming six (6) months of age, whichever is sooner, that a rabies vaccination has been obtained and that the animal has been altered. Upon submission of such proof, the shelter shall refund the deposit and give the owner a certificate of compliance.
