Just Chicken Soft Launch Creates Cruelty-Free Buzz
Without fanfare, Eat Just has begun shipping its brand new Just Chicken line of vegan protein products. The company’s Just Egg is already a cruelty-free favorite, so their March preview of Just Chicken in regular, buffalo, and sesame ginger got our attention.
We’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Just Chicken ever since the company started testing a lab-grown chicken in Singapore several years ago. While Just Chicken is a plant-based product, not a lab-grown one, this quiet launch is generating a lot of excitement because of the company’s track record of creating great-tasting and healthful animal-free proteins.
Earlier this year, the San Francisco Bay Area-based company joined PETA’s Eat Without Experiments Program, formalizing its commitment to never testing on animals unless explicitly required by law.
The Just Chicken Soft Launch in the Wild
There’s no official launch information yet, but intrepid shoppers have been discovering Just Chicken in select Sprouts Farmers Markets. It’s listed on the HEB website, and is also available at Walmart.
Helping Chickens and Mice
More than nine billion chickens—each one experiencing complex emotions and capable of forming loving social bonds—were killed for human consumption in the United States last year, so products like Just Chicken create a meaningful difference in the lives of real animals. Worldwide, a staggering 75 billion chickens are killed by humans each year, so products like Just Chicken are critical parts of any overall strategy to reduce suffering and increase sustainability on planet Earth. And Eat Just’s commitment to compassion runs deep: they are a signatory to PETA’s Eat Without Experiments Program, ensuring that not only are animals not exploited to create their products, but also animal testing is not part of their routine product development process.
Every Animal Is Someone
Every animal is someone, including the unknown billions of chickens on farms and hundreds of millions of mice and rats in laboratories worldwide. PETA has been committed to ending these horrors from day one. So what are you waiting for?
