Sec. 6-21. – Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Kennel means a household, establishment, structure or premises used for harboring, raising, training or boarding more than three dogs and/or more than three cats that are more than six months old. No one may have more than one litter of puppies and/or kittens more than six months old.

Sec. 6-22. – License.

It shall be unlawful for any person to own, operate and/or participate in a kennel without a license.

Sec. 6-23. – Penalties.

Any violation of any portion of this article shall be deemed a misdemeanor and on conviction for the first offense shall be punished by a fine of not less than $50.00, and not more than $100.00; for the second offense shall be punished by a fine of not less than $200.00, and not more than $400.00; and for the third and subsequent offenses shall be punished by a fine of not less than $300.00, and not more than $500.00 or 30 days in jail, or both, plus court costs.
