Sec. 4-64. – Registration fee.

The registration fee for each sterilized animal shall be ten dollars ($10). The registration fee for an animal that has not been sterilized shall be twenty five dollars ($25). Animal owners must show written proof of sterilization from a licensed veterinarian.

Sec. 4-64. – Proof of sterilization.

The owner of an animal may register said animal with the intent of sterilization for ten ($10) dollars. The copy of the registration form will be issued but the tag will be withheld until the owner can show written proof of sterilization form a licensed veterinarian. If said animal is caught and taken by the animal control officer, his/her associates, or the Bay Minette Police Department within three (3) months of being registered and the owner can show proof of said animal being registered there will be no fine for not wearing a registration tag.

Exception: The owner of a show animal, field trial animal, or agility trial animal that can show written proof of participation in at least three (3) sanctioned shows or trials in a given year shall be required to pay only the ten dollar ($10) registration fee even though the animal has not been sterilized. The “owner” must show participation in shows with this breed. Said animal may not have participated in any of these named events to date.

Exception: Animals that cannot be sterilized due to medical complications need pay only a ten dollar ($10) registration fee. Proof of said medical complications from a licensed veterinarian must be presented at the time of registration
