Act Now! Niagara Falls’ Summer Fireworks Series Terrifies Domestic and Wild Animals from May to October
Niagara Falls Tourism’s fireworks runs every single night from May through October, typically meaning at least 150 consecutive nights of loud blasts. Despite calls from PETA and angry residents to cancel the series, and an ad campaign to alert everyone to the detrimental effects of fireworks, tourism officials have no plans to end the displays.

The explosions trigger panic and stress in wildlife, companion animals, and humans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. They also produce clouds of smoke laden with particles that are harmful to the respiratory systems of all living beings.
A natural wonder like Niagara Falls doesn’t need fireworks to draw in tourists. A sentiment backed by the results of a survey commissioned by PETA and conducted by The Harris Poll, which showed that 78% of Americans agree that a nightly fireworks display would not be necessary for them to enjoy a visit to Niagara Falls. And, when it comes to enhancing the Falls, Americans surveyed strongly preferred the Falls’ existing illumination over a nightly fireworks show, if they had to choose.
Please urge Canada’s Niagara Falls Tourism to drop this traumatizing bombardment and let its nighttime illumination take center stage, or switch to a cutting-edge, visually dazzling laser or drone show, both of which would allow everyone to experience a quieter, cleaner, and less stressful summer.
