Norfolk, Va. — March is Meat-Out Month, and thanks to a little help from longtime PETA pal Pamela Anderson, taking the "Veg Pledge" is easier and more rewarding than ever. Debuting on February 18, PETA’s new GoVeg.com Web feature shows an exclusive photo of Pam, alongside her words: "With so many great reasons to go vegetarian, instead of asking, ‘Why,’ we should be asking ourselves, ‘Why not?’" Everyone who promises to try exclusively veggie meals for 30 days will receive PETA’s special "Pledge 2B Veg" pack—complete with a vegetarian starter kit, easy recipes that the whole family will love, and colorful stickers to remind them to stick to it.
"When I realized that hamburgers didn’t really grow in ‘hamburger patches’ (as some fast-food ads make kids believe) but came from real cows and chickens who screamed when they were killed, I became a vegetarian and started rolling the nickels I’d saved to join PETA," says Anderson of her early wake-up call to help protect animals.
Millions of people who are concerned about their health, the environment, and animals often find the notion of going vegetarian intimidating. That’s why PETA created its brand-new Web site VegCooking.com, a veritable cornucopia of all things vegetarian that can turn novices into experts with a click of the mouse. The following are just a few of the special features on VegCooking.com that will have the most diehard carnivores perusing with delight:
* A detailed, step-by-step guide that makes going vegan as easy as pie
* How to host your very own vegan tailgate party
* "I Can’t Believe It’s Vegan!"—an extensive list of great-tasting vegan products that you can find in your local grocery store

* Scores of time-tested, succulent vegetarian recipes
* Personal replies to questions from renowned vegan chef and cookbook author Robin Robertson
