We’ve Got Our Eye on You, McDonald’s

Written by PETA | July 8, 2009

McDonald’s corporate headquarters is located near Chicago, so ever since we launched our McCruelty Campaign, the city’s residents have seen some pretty interesting demonstrations asking the company to stop abusing birds immediately. We’ve been keeping our latest stunt under wraps—but last night, two groups of stealthy crusaders were in the Windy City, projecting this pretty scary image on the façades of Chicago’s buildings:

McCruelty Chicago

McCruelty Chicago

While everyone loves a good light show, I have a feeling that these antics didn’t elicit any “oohs” or “ahs” from McDonald’s executives. That’s because our display definitely caught the attention of potential McDonald’s customers who now know that chickens slaughtered for McDonald’s “happy meals” are still conscious and able to feel pain—even though there are more humane slaughter methods available.

So, Chicagoans, keep the light on for us. Until McDonald’s makes the decision to require its U.S. suppliers to switch to a less cruel slaughter method, we’ll be in town.

Brian I said what I did because tresspassing is an offense a LAW offense. I’m an omnivore too admittedly but I’m far from stupid. One who does not understand the LAW or words like CRIMINAL TRESSPASS need to look at their heads not I.

Man why is it that the people who complain about some stunt that PETA pulls are always the meatheads. Oh no PETA you’ve really done it this time. PETA hasn’t done enough until you all wake up and smell what is cooking or should I say rotting in your bellies. But you know what PETA I would keep doing this even after McDonalds changes to a less cruel method. I’m sick and tired of hearing about all the work that PETA does trying to get these fastfood chains to change to something different they should be 100 promoting other entreprenuers who are getting it right!

we agree with this every time we eat McDonald chicken nuggets we are killing a bird. Also we witnessed something gross when we ordered our chicken nuggets. Some body was cleaning the counter and then he took our order. He didn’t wash his hands and he picked up the chicken nuggets with his dirty hands!! He put the nuggets in the box that we of course did not eat.

PETA if you wish to protest fine but I’d exercise more caution on protests like these. What you did if you got caught would be a fineable offense at the very least. People look at that over your claims further hurting your credibility.

Great job again PETA. As a Chicagoan I must say that the Chicago Diner and Soul Vegetarian East are two of the most savory vegetarian eateries in the world.
