Wu-Tang Clan’s Masta Killa Says Going Vegan IS Something to F’ With in New PETA Campaign
He may be known as Masta Killa, but when it comes to animals, this Wu-Tang Clan member and vegan is all heart. The lyrical assassin doesn’t F’ with consuming other animals’ flesh, eggs, or milk, which is why he teamed up with PETA to rep plant-powered living.
Flexing the freshest fit—“lettuce camo” gear—Killa flashes a fistful of leafy greens in the showstopping ad, encouraging his fans to respect our fellow animals by living vegan. In exclusive behind-the-scenes video footage, the legendary MC—who just dropped his highly anticipated solo album, Balance—shares how vegan meals each day have kept his energy levels “through the roof.”
“Take care of your body and your body will take care of you,” said Killa. “Your body is a living organism—you’re supposed to feed it life. Plants, vegetables, fruits, all of those things are still living, so you’re putting life into life.”
The longtime vegan—one of several Wu-Tang Clan members, including RZA and GZA, who’ve sworn off meat, eggs, and dairy—notes that with an abundance of animal-friendly cuisine available from coast to coast, it’s never been easier to make the switch.
“Everywhere I go now, there’s a good vegan meal somewhere—and it’s more healthy, so there’s really no excuse,” Killa said.
Protect Ya Fellow Animals!
Cows have lifelong friendships and are deeply devoted mothers. In nature, chickens live in complex social hierarchies known as “pecking orders.” Mother pigs sing to their babies while nursing. In the cruel meat, egg, and dairy industries, farms condemn these social, emotional animals to filthy and crowded sheds, where they cannot play, roam freely, or even breathe fresh air. Dairy farms separate mother cows from their precious babies, causing them severe anguish, and egg farms cram sensitive birds tightly together in unsanitary conditions.
At slaughterhouses, animals’ throats are slit, often while they’re still conscious. The bottom line: Cows, birds, pigs, and others experience pain and terror when humans slaughter them for their flesh.
Some companies use misleading “Animal Welfare Certified” labels to deceive consumers into thinking that there’s any way to “humanely” exploit another feeling individual—but these bogus certifications mean nothing to the animals who suffer on farms and at slaughterhouses.
C.R.E.A.M: Compassion Rules Everything Around Me!
Every human who goes vegan can spare nearly 200 animals every year—but that’s far from the only benefit. Vegan living is also much better for the planet and your own health. Research has shown that vegans are less likely to suffer from cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
