As the holiday season approaches and Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular gears up to open, Alec Baldwin is urging the production to live up to its name—because as it stands, the show’s exploitation of camels, sheep, and donkeys as living set pieces in its Nativity scenes is anything but spectacular. The award-winning actor’s ad will hit TVs during the Christmas Spectacular’s opening week—watch it here first:
As Baldwin points out, there’s nothing festive about hauling sensitive animals around, storing them backstage like props, and exposing them to loud crowds and blinding lights—all of which terrify and confuse them.
