George Carden International Circus to Phase Out Elephant Acts
George Carden International Circus plans to phase out elephants acts within the next four years. The announcement that elephants will be eliminated from performances by 2019 comes on the heels of Ringling Bros.’ promise to phase out elephant acts by 2018. This is further proof that the public rejects the practice of separating baby elephants from their mothers and chaining and beating these sensitive, intelligent animals in order to force them to perform silly tricks.
But four more years of misery under the big top is too long. PETA is calling on the George Carden International Circus to end its elephant acts now and on George Carden to send the elephants to sanctuaries immediately so that they can live out the rest of their lives in peace.
