‘The Future’ is Vegan: Ian Machado Garry’s PETA Campaign Hits Philly Ahead of Fight Night

As UFC fans flood Philly to watch #2-ranked Ian Machado Garry take on Islam Makhachev in an explosive welterweight world title fight on August 15, a hard-hitting new PETA message from “The Future” himself will be waiting en route to Xfinity Mobile Arena, showing how vegan eating gives him the competitive edge. With a dominant 17-1 record, the elite striker credits plant foods for his knockout power and lightning-fast recovery. His message: the future is powered by plants.

“Every fighter wants to be the best. For me, it starts with what I put in my body. Before I was plant-based, I was strong. But now, I’m on another level,” Garry says in an accompanying video spot. “Because strength isn’t just power. It’s clarity. Endurance. Discipline… I’m not just fighting opponents. I’m fighting limits to be the best version of me and the best athlete out there.”

Cows develop friendships over time, chickens form complex social structures, and pigs recognize their own names—but in today’s meat, egg, and dairy industries, the animals are trucked to slaughterhouses in all weather extremes and violently killed.
