Gainesville, Va. – In a nationwide battle royal to see who takes the cake, Inspired Cravings has come out in the top tier. Beating out eateries from across the country, the local favorite clinched a spot on PETA’s list of the Top 10 Vegan Sweet Treats in the U.S. for its vegan cupcakes made with fresh fruit compotes and a light coconut cream frosting. Available in a wide variety of flavors, these exquisite, tasty treats are perfect for Valentine’s Day—or any day!
Inspired Cravings offers more than 20 varieties of vegan cupcakes, including Love Strawberry Swirls, Boldness Triple Chocolate, Forgiveness Honey Raspberry (the “honey” is also vegan, of course), and classics like vanilla and chocolate (with sprinkles!).
“With rich flavors that range from chocolatey to fruity, Inspired Cravings’ vegan cupcakes sprinkle kindness to animals in every tasty bite,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “All the eateries on PETA’s list prove that it’s as easy as vegan pie to dish out delicious treats that are also sweet to animals this Valentine’s Day.”
Consumers’ demand for vegan food out of concern for animals, the environment, and their own health has sent the vegan food market skyrocketing: It grew two and a half times faster in 2021 than it did between 2018 and 2020, and it’s expected to reach $22 billion by 2025.
Other winners on PETA’s list include HaleLife Bakery, with locations in Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Tampa, Florida; Jalen’s Bakery in Fresno, California; and Sprig & Vine in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Each eatery will receive a framed certificate from PETA, which offers free vegan Valentine’s Day dessert recipes on its website along with a selection of sweet gifts from the PETA Shop.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
