Ahead of Pi Day (March 14), PETA has calculated the best vegan Key lime pies from around the Sunshine State with its first-ever Kind Lime Pie awards—and Fort Lauderdale’s own Stephanie’s Vegan Bakery + Cafe has nabbed a spot on the list. The eatery’s vegan Key lime pie is an irresistible blend of sweet and tangy, lavishly topped with fragrant, freshly zested lime and bursting with bright citrus in every bite.

“Stephanie’s Vegan Bakery + Cafe has taken the Sunshine State’s signature pie to vibrant new heights, serving up a sensational citrus tart that’s as delicious as it is kind to animals,” says PETA President Tracy Reiman. “Every winner on PETA’s list is proving that decadent vegan desserts are a sweet deal for everyone.”
PETA notes that in addition to being a treat for the taste buds, vegan desserts are kind to mother cows, whose calves are taken away from them on dairy farms, and to mother hens, who are caged and used as egg-producing machines until their bodies give out and they’re sent to slaughter. PETA’s free vegan starter kit can help those looking to make the switch.
Stephanie’s Vegan Bakery + Cafe will receive a framed award certificate from PETA, along with bragging rights. Other winners on PETA’s list include Christopher’s Kitchen in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens, Moondog Cafe & Bakery in Key West, Green Zebra Cafe in Sarasota, and Valhalla Bakery in Orlando and Saint Petersburg.
Stephanie’s Vegan Bakery + Cafe is located at 1436 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
