PETA Statement re Neiman Marcus Goes Fur-Free

Below, please find a statement from PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman in response to the announcement that Neiman Marcus Group will be fur-free by early 2023:

After decades of pressure from persistent grassroots activists and PETA, Neiman Marcus Group will stop selling fur at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. By closing down its 22 fur salons, the company will prevent many thousands of animals from being electrocuted, gassed, and beaten to death. We’re sure it will move more quickly to end fur sales than the stated end goal, as no one wants to be caught dead in fur anymore.
