PETA Statement on Death of Larry the Lobster

Below, please find a statement from PETA Vice President Tracy Reiman in response to the death of Larry the lobster upon his arrival at Maine State Aquarium:

Larry’s needless death after efforts were made to save him from being boiled and eaten shows that he should have immediately been released back into his ocean home, not shunted about and shipped like a piece of mail to be held captive in an aquarium. PETA encourages people to respect lobsters by simply leaving such intelligent beings off their plate and choosing tasty, cruelty-free fare such as vegan faux-fish fillets and crab-less cakes instead.
