Below, please find a statement from PETA Foundation Supervising Veterinarian Dr. Heather Rally in response to the video of a dolphin at SeaWorld Orlando “kissing” two trainers:

If the public knew that Diego the dolphin had been torn away from his mother as a baby and has never known the ocean’s current, his “kisses” would prompt tears. While other marine parks are shutting down or moving marine mammals to seaside sanctuaries, SeaWorld is still forcing dolphins to perform cheap tricks in tiny tanks and breeding them—sometimes forcibly after they’ve been drugged—and PETA is calling on the company to cut the propaganda and send Diego and every other dolphin and whale it’s holding to seaside sanctuaries immediately.

PETA’s motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment,” and more information about SeaWorld is available here.
