Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The FBI has reportedly just arrested Tiger King villain and Myrtle Beach Safari operator Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, whose initial hearing is reportedly set for Monday. Below, please find a statement from PETA Foundation Associate Director of Captive Animal Law Enforcement Debbie Metzler:

It’s fitting that “Doc” Antle is behind bars after years of locking up the endangered animals he uses in tawdry photo ops. His legal woes are mounting, as PETA recently blew the whistle on his apparent “charity” scam, and the end to his reign of terrorizing tiger cubs can’t come soon enough.

More details about Antle’s exploitation of animals—which PETA has been fighting for years—are available here.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment or abuse in any way”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
