PETA Offers $5,000 Reward for Safe Return of Senior Dachshund Stolen from Blind Guardian

PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the safe return of a 14-year-old tan and white dachshund named Bam Bam, as well as the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for stealing the dog from his legally blind guardian’s backyard in Logan Square on the morning of June 5. With the addition of a $1,000 reward offered by community members, the total reward in this case is now $6,000.
According to reports, Bam Bam was in his backyard near Monticello and Fullerton avenues when his guardian, Angel Santiago, heard two unknown men enter the yard through his gate. Santiago tried to intervene and grabbed one of the suspects—who he believes was a teenager wearing long sleeves—but they got away with his beloved dog. Santiago has since walked up to seven miles a day handing out flyers and calling out for Bam Bam, who is microchipped but was not wearing his collar when he was taken.
PETA is asking for the public’s help to find Bam Bam and the individuals who stole him. Would you please share this information with your audience? It may be the only way to get this dog home and apprehend those responsible.
