Clearwater, Fla. – For National Ice Cream Day (Sunday), a “cow” mascot will join PETA to churn out free nondairy desserts to passersby in Clearwater, as a reminder that delicious vegan treats are as sweet to cows as they are to us.

When:    Sunday, July 18, 12 noon

Where:    The intersection of S. Gulfview Boulevard and Fifth Street, Clearwater

“A mother cow produces milk for her calf, just as human mothers produce milk for their babies,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA’s giveaway is a fun and refreshing way to honor cows, who don’t deserve to be exploited for anyone’s treat.”

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
