Please see the following statement from PETA primate scientist Dr. Lisa Jones-Engel regarding Alpha Genesis’ latest attempt to whitewash its reputation. Alpha Genesis boasts about a clean inspection report, but no rubber-stamped approval can erase its long record of negligence, suffering, and incompetence. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) once again looked the other way, ignoring the facility’s history of monkey escapes, preventable deaths, and staff failures—allowing this taxpayer-funded operation to continue exploiting animals with impunity.
Alpha Genesis has been waiting and ready for this inspection, and nothing can erase its record of covering up deaths, failing to treat diseases, and its entrenched culture of disregarding monkeys’ wellbeing. This animal-exploiting company was given tens of millions of taxpayer dollars, and yet it chose to build its castle on sand, causing suffering to beings whose only ‘crime’ was being born other-than-human. One day it will collapse, and that day cannot come too soon for the monkeys and taxpayers.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to experiment on”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
