As travelers look ahead to summer getaways, PETA is spotlighting the nation’s most compassionate stays with its inaugural Hospitality with Heart Awards—and Orcas Island’s own Pebble Cove Farm Inn & Animal Sanctuaryhas made the list. The waterfront inn and organic plant farm pairs a peaceful, four‑acre setting with amenities that leave animals in peace, offering complimentary vegan breakfasts and snack baskets—including everything from homemade muesli to fresh-pressed fruit juices and much more—along with vegan furnishings and amenities, including toiletries that were never tested on animals.

Guests can take in 180-degree waterfront views, relax in the hot tub or a hammock, explore the property’s orchards and beach, visit the property’s rescued residents—including goats, pigs, chickens, and a pony—pick produce from the garden, and row to a nearby island for a picnic. Founded in 2006 by Lydia and John Miller, the inn continues to blend animal rescue, environmental stewardship, and hospitality.
