PETA’s just-released horrifying new social media recipe video shows how to make Double Stuf Oreos with a twist—crammed full of feces and blood to give people a taste of what mice have endured in laboratories courtesy of Oreo’s parent company, Mondelēz International. PETA hopes the video will prompt fans of the cookie to tell the company to leave animals alone and calls for a Halloween ban on Oreos.

Mondelēz—which also makes Ritz Crackers, Triscuit, and other popular snacks—has paid experimenters to force-feed mice human waste, chemicals, and glass beads before killing and dissecting them in gruesome, curiosity-driven experiments that have nothing to do with human health.

“Feeding mice human feces and then killing them is a double-stuf’ed nightmare,” says PETA Vice President Shalin Gala. “Keep Oreos out of your trick-or-treat bag and the blood off your hands this Halloween.”

There are no requirements anywhere in the world for curiosity-based experiments, yet Mondelēz refuses to ban them. More than 63,000 people have called on Mondelēz to join the rapidly growing list of major food and beverage companies—including Ferrero International, Bacardi Limited, Amy’s Kitchen, Heineken, and Unilever—that have signed on to PETA’s Eat Without Experiments program, which helps shoppers identify food and beverage companies that don’t test on animals.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to experiment on”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
