Football fans flocking to town for the Big Game may come face-to-beak with the giant, walking, talking, AI-powered robo-chicken, “Hennifer Coolidge,” who will cluck her way through San Jose, San Francisco, and Santa Clara this week, urging everyone to spare her feathered friends and pick up some fabulous vegan options instead. Named in honor of the vegan award-winning actress Jennifer Coolidge—and voiced to sound just like her—PETA’s chatty chicken will spout sassy phrases, including “I want you to go vegan real bad,” as she greets fans outside the San Jose McEnery Convention Center on Monday for Super Bowl Opening Night and outside Levi’s Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday.
“PETA’s robo-chicken is asking fans to play ball by leaving smart and sensitive chickens in peace, not in pieces,” says PETA President Tracy Reiman. “Football fans can kick off their Super Bowl feasts with tasty vegan game-day grub like cauliflower wings and even chicken taste-alikes from JUST, Daring, and Gardein.”
Where: Outside the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, 150 W. San Carlos St., San Jose
When: Monday, February 2, 3:30 p.m.
Where: Outside Levi’s Stadium, 4900 Marie P. DeBartolo Way, Santa Clara
When: Sunday, February 8, 12 Noon

Why: Chickens form complex social structures, dream when they sleep, and worry about the future, just as humans do. At slaughterhouses, mechanized blades slit their throats—often while they’re still conscious—and many are scalded to death in de-feathering tanks. PETA offers a free vegan starter kit and recommendations for delicious vegan Super Bowl fare for anyone thinking of making the switch.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
