With Montana now fully reopened and post-lockdown life for humans underway, PETA is launching a new ad campaign aimed at animal guardians heading back to the office. The new video spot—available here—is told from the perspective of dogs who want to know, “What’s your plan for me?” The spot is running on NBC 6.

“When you start spending more time away from home, it’s going to be a big change for me,” one dog says. “Even the cat’s nervous!” The spot directs viewers to PETA.org/BackToWork, where they’ll find tips, such as planning for long walks before and after work, keeping animal companions busy and stimulated when they’re home alone, and finding a trusted friend to let dogs walk and relieve themselves midday, at a minimum. PETA also issues tips for cat guardians, including information on spotting stress-related behavior.

“Our animal companions have relished having company during the lockdown, so they’re bound to feel confused, abandoned, and lonely as humans leave the home,” says PETA Senior Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch. “PETA’s PSA can help make the transition smoother for them—because no one should have to spend their life in limbo simply because they walk on four legs instead of two.”

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way” and which opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview—is also running the ad in Billings and other cities across the country. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
