The taste of victory! PETA has just named its Most Vegan-Friendly Cities in the U.S., and A-Town has crushed the competition, nabbing a spot on the list with its plethora of plant-powered options.
Atlanta mainstay Slutty Vegan dishes up a bevy of bangin’ burgers, including the “The One Night Stand,” a plant-powered patty loaded with Slutty Strips vegan bacon, vegan cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, and the eatery’s signature Slut Sauce on a vegan Hawaiian bun. The Atlanta-based chain also offers Slutty Slushies, Sweet Potato Pie, and Hooker Fries, which are loaded with vegan beef, vegan cheese, jalapeños, onions, lettuce, and diced tomatoes.
Atlanta’s ever-expanding vegan dining scene also includes tasty pizzas from Pizza Verdura Sincera, Plant Based Pizzeria, and PLANTA, which also offers a luscious dairy-free Key Lime Cheesecake with coconut whip, lime zest, and an oat crust. Other vibrant vegan food options that earned Atlanta a top spot include flavor-packed vegan paninis at Cafe Kulture, an animal-friendly Crunch Wrap made with seitan beef and vegan nacho cheese at La Semilla, and Cheezesteak Eggrollz, a Boozie Brownie, and other veganized comfort foods at Bar Vegan ATL. The city also hosts several animal-friendly food festivals throughout the year, including the ATL Vegan Festival, Georgia Vegfest, Juneteenth Vegan Fest, Plantapalooza, Vegan Brewfest, and the Veggie Taste Festival.
“From juicy burgers to delicious dairy-free desserts, Atlanta is a paradise for vegan eating with an abundance of animal-friendly restaurants,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “All the cities on PETA’s list have cemented their status as vegan dining destinations, proving that delicious animal-friendly cuisine is available from coast to coast.”
Other vegan-friendly cities recognized by PETA include Denver; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago; Detroit; Los Angeles; New Orleans; New York City; Philadelphia; and Washington.
Every person who goes vegan spares nearly 200 animals each year from daily suffering and a terrifying death, and reduces their own risk of developing heart disease and cancer. PETA offers vegan starter kits to help everyone opt for animal-friendly foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—because when it comes to saving animals, every meal counts.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
