PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction on cruelty charges of the person(s) who abandoned four to six kittens near the intersection of Sheridan and Ball Roads during dangerously cold weather. A woman in a silver SUV was seen dumping the kittens out of a box into a ditch. The kittens fled into the brush on private property, and one was later found dead due to the harsh weather. The others have not been located.

The suspect has not been identified and may have other animals in her possession. Anyone with information should contact Tuscola County Animal Control at 989-672-3863 or [email protected].

“These terrified kittens should have been kept warm and safe with their mother, but instead they were dumped like trash and left to die in the freezing cold,” says PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA urges anyone who has any information about this case to come forward so that the perpetrator can face justice, before she hurts any more animals.”

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on XFacebook, or Instagram.
